Barbecue and blues music will be featured at the Village of Park Forest’s first Ribs & Blues Fest, scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 16. The event will take place from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on the Village Green at 349 Main St.
Evelyn Randle, Community Relations Manager, said the festival is designed to bring residents together with live music and food vendors. “This is an event we’ve been excited to bring to the community,” Randle said. “Last year, we had to cancel due to rain, but this time we’re ready — and the ribs are coming, no matter the weather.”
The festival’s lineup includes performances by Brookwood Drive, Michael Charles, and The Freddie Dixon Blues Band. Local vendors will offer food, drinks, and artisan goods throughout the day.
Randle also noted that advance registration is encouraged for attendees. The first 50 people who register and email her at erandle@vopf.com will receive a $5 voucher redeemable with selected vendors during the event.
“This is more than just a concert or a food festival,” Randle said. “It’s a way for our community to come together, enjoy great music, support small businesses, and have a really good time before summer winds down.”
