City of Joliet Board of Fire and Police Commissioners met June 23.

ROLL CALL

Quinn Adamowski, Natalie Coleman, Herb Lande, Tomas Ponce and John Stefanski

Present

CITIZENS TO BE HEARD ON AGENDA ITEMS

James Lewis read a letter on behalf of Joliet Unity Movement in support of Officer Alfonso Sanchez. He also spoke in support of Officer Sanchez.

Dave Jackson spoke in support of reinstating Officer Sanchez.

Coach from Providence Catholic High School spoke in support of Officer Sanchez.

Virginia Bradley spoke in support of Officer Sanchez.

Amy Sanchez spoke in support of Officer Sanchez.

John Casillas spoke in support of Officer Sanchez.

SECRETARY’S REPORT

None.

CLOSED SESSION

A motion was made by John Stefanski, seconded by Herb Lande, to enter into closed session at approximately 5:20 p.m. to discuss a specific employee (5 ILCS 5/120/2(c)(1)).

The motion carried by the following vote:

Aye: Adamowski, Coleman, Lande, Ponce and Stefanski

The Board of Fire & Police Commissioners resumed the meeting at approximately 6:50 p.m. with all commissioners present.

RECOMMENDATION

None.

PUBLIC COMMENT

None.

Interim Corporation Counsel Todd Lenze explained that the Board's findings will be compiled and a Special Meeting will be set to present the findings concerning Officer Alfonso Sanchez

A motion was made by John Stefanski, seconded by Herb Lande, to adjourn.

The motion carried by the following vote:

Aye: Adamowski, Coleman, Lande, Ponce and Stefanski
