Mildred M. Sapyta | Richard J. Modell Funeral Home & Cremation Services - Homer Glen

Homer Glen resident Mildred "Millie" M. Sapyta, nee Rusnak, aged 83, passed away. Millie was the wife of the late Frank Sapyta and the mother of the late Debora (Joe) Swatkowski, Tina (Jack) Flemming, and Daniel Sapyta. She was the grandmother of Christopher, Eric, Amye, and Joseph Swatkowski, as well as Megan and Kate Flemming. Millie was also the great grandmother of Alastor and Esther Swatkowski. She was the daughter of the late Mary and John Rusnak, sister of the late Marion, John, Elizabeth, Lillian, and Julianna Rusnak, as well as Barbara Snidanko. Millie was remembered as a caring friend to many. She will be missed by nieces, nephews, and loved ones.

A memorial visitation will be held on Saturday, August 16, starting at 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass at 11:00 a.m. at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Homer Glen.

Millie was a graduate of St. Simon the Apostle Elementary School and St. Procopius High School in Chicago. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, solving crossword puzzles, reading, and listening to music, especially Elvis. Millie had a deep appreciation for nature, particularly butterflies. She took pride in her Slovakian heritage and Catholic faith, and was a devoted parishioner of St. Bernard Parish in Homer Glen.

In lieu of flowers, donations to The Homer Glen Knights of Columbus in memory of Millie are appreciated.
