John V. Woulfe Jr., a former U.S. Marine and dedicated family man from Frankfort, Illinois, passed away peacefully in his sleep on June 24 at the age of 90, only four days after celebrating his 90th birthday. Known for his dedication to family, Catholic faith, and country, Mr. Woulfe lived a life filled with remarkable achievements and connections.

Born on June 20, 1935, to John Sr. and Celeste Woulfe in Chicago, Mr. Woulfe graduated from Saint Ignatius College Prep in 1953 before studying business at the University of Notre Dame. He married his college sweetheart, Nancy Woulfe (nee Roethele), the same month he turned 22 and reported for officer training at Marine Corps Base Quantico in Virginia.

During his military career, he trained a platoon in the art of building and detonating bridges, rising to the rank of 1st Lieutenant. Following his service, Mr. Woulfe succeeded his father as president of Clyde Printing in 1967, a family-owned printing company in Chicago. Under his leadership, the business thrived, catering to prestigious clients including the Chicago White Sox, Cubs, Bears, and Armour-Dial.

Mr. Woulfe, survived by his wife of 68 years, Nancy, is remembered by his three daughters, Molly Woulfe (Ed Bierschenk), Colleen (Chris Law), Katie Woulfe Weil (Mark Weil); four sons, Martin (Angela Aznarte), Neil, John III, and Daniel (Tonette Kliment); 10 grandchildren; a great-grandchild; and his sister, Frances Ann Floeter.

Visitation will be held from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. on July 1 at Kurtz Memorial Chapel in Frankfort, with Mass at 11 a.m. on July 2 at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Frankfort, followed by burial at St. Mary Catholic Cemetery in Evergreen Park.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations to the John '53 and Nancy Woulfe Endowment at Saint Ignatius College Prep to support their Tuition Assistance Program. Gifts can be sent via check or the school's website.

To honor the memory of John V. Woulfe Jr., please consider sending flowers or planting memorial trees in his name.
