From 2004 to 2023, Norma enjoyed wintering in Florida, exploring antique shows, and dancing whenever an opportunity arose. A trip to Ireland was a significant highlight of her life. Known for her exceptional pie-making skills, Norma baked delicious pies daily for many years, cherished by all who knew her.
Norma is survived by her sons William (Cheryl), John, and Patrick (Karen) all of Reddick, IL; daughters Melinda (Dan) Hogan of Buckingham, IL, and Mary Kay (Todd Gereaux) of Essex, IL. She is lovingly remembered by her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, siblings, and extended family. Norma was preceded in death by her husband Donald, infant son Donald Lawrence O’Brien Jr., and other family members.
The family expresses gratitude to caregiver Susan Tjelle for her devoted care. Cremation rites have been accorded. A memorial visitation will take place at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Reddick, IL on Thursday, July 17, 2025, with a Mass of Christian Burial and inurnment to follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Campus, IL. A Celebration of Life will follow at Station 343 in Dwight, IL.
