Diane Marie Charnicky (née Laneville), 85, peacefully passed away on June 2, 2025, at Alta Rehab in Oak Brook, Illinois. Born in Waterbury, Connecticut, Diane grew up under the loving guidance of her mother, Christine Binder, and stepfather, Joseph Binder, who supported her journeys through life.

A graduate of secretarial school, Diane married Allan Roy Elliott, with whom she shared the joys of raising four children. Her deep love for music, particularly country and western, shone through her passion for singing and performing with Allan's band.

After moving to Illinois, Diane found a new love with Richard Charnicky, with whom she shared a decade-long courtship before marrying in 1999. Their shared adventures brought them joy and cherished memories.

Diane's greatest joy was her family, to whom she was a dedicated matriarch and beloved grandmother. Her meticulous documentation of family gatherings, love for cooking, and strong family bond were at the core of her being.

Diane is survived by her children, Laureen Canovas, Marc Elliott, Raymond Elliott, and Susan Carlton, along with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Christine and Joseph Binder.

Visitation for Diane will be held on June 9, 2025, at Anderson Memorial Home in Plainfield, IL, with a service to follow. Cremation rites will be accorded after the services. In lieu of flowers, donations to organizations close to Diane's heart are appreciated.

The family extends their gratitude to the caregivers at Angel's Grace Hospice, Alta Rehab of Oak Brook, Saratoga Grove Retirement and Assisted Living, and Story Point of Naperville for their compassionate care.
