Michael Vartabedian, Dedicated Family Man and Respected Attorney, Passes Away at 87

Michael Vartabedian, born in Brooklyn, New York, on September 5, 1937, passed away in Romeoville, Illinois, on May 26, 2025. He was the son of Benjamin and Pam Vartabedian. Michael is survived by his wife of 56 years, Elizabeth, sons Matthew and Andrew, grandchildren Emmett and Maeve, and brothers H. Richard and Daniel. Preceding him in death were his parents and dear friend, Robert Lutz.

Michael's life was marked by challenges and triumphs from a young age, having battled polio as a child. Despite this, his determination and resilience were evident as he navigated life with a disability, finding solace in swimming and outdoor activities. His education and career as an attorney were marked by hard work and dedication, embodying a strong sense of commitment in all aspects of his life.

He met his beloved wife Elizabeth during his time in law school and their partnership blossomed into 56 years of marriage, creating a loving family in Somers, New York. Michael's dedication extended to public service, serving on various boards and preserving the natural beauty of his community.

In retirement, Michael continued to work and serve his community while enjoying his love for the water and spending cherished moments with his family. His memory will be forever cherished by his wife, sons, grandchildren, and all whose lives he touched.

Friends and family are invited to pay their respects at Anderson Memorial Homes in Plainfield, IL, on May 31, 2025, followed by a memorial service. Cremation rites have been accorded. May Michael Vartabedian's legacy of perseverance and love live on in the hearts of those who knew him.
