Mokena, IL - Edward L. Paben, 76, US Marine Corp Veteran and beloved husband of Catherine Paben, late of Mokena, passed away. He was the loving father of Terra Comerford, Michelle Schneider, and Paul Paben, and the proud papa of several grandchildren and great-grandchild. Edward was the dear brother of David, Thomas, and Wayne Paben, and remembered by many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents Paul and Veronica Paben, as well as brothers Roger and Brian Paben.

Edward, known as "Papa," enjoyed summers with his grandchildren, engaging in pool activities and attending their events. He had a creative spirit, often inventing jingles for everyday tasks and making mundane moments fun. With over 40 years at Barry-Wehmiller in Romeoville, IL, he was dedicated to his work. Edward found delight in travel, classic cars, and was a devoted Chicago Cubs fan. His enthusiasm and warm spirit left a lasting impact on those he encountered.

Visitation will be on Friday, May 23, 2025, at Vandenberg Funeral Home in Mokena, IL, with a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, May 24, 2025, at St. Francis Assisi Catholic Church. Interment will be at St. Mary Catholic Cemetery in Mokena. Contributions in Edward's memory may be made to Lightways Hospice. To send memorial trees or flowers, please visit the flower store.
