Installation of soil cells in the Chicago Street corridor has been completed south of Clinton, according to a recent update on the ongoing construction project. Electrical work is progressing along Chicago Street and within City Square, while masonry work has commenced on the main stage. Additionally, ComEd crews are working on reconstructing the underground vault between Clinton and Cass.

Looking ahead to the week of May 19th, soil cell installations are expected to be finished on the east half of the block north of Clinton. Bituminous paving will take place from north of Cass to Webster Street on Chicago Street, necessitating daily lane closures. Electrical installations will continue within City Square's boundaries, and ComEd plans to complete concrete placement in the reconstructed underground vault. The completion of masonry elements for the main stage is anticipated, alongside ongoing foundation excavations for various components in City Square.

Bollard assemblies are being placed along Chicago Street as part of the project developments. The front of the main stage is also being prepared for additional masonry elements.
