Ernestina “Tina” Vargas de Cuevas, Fondly Remembered for Her Generosity and Faith, Passes Away at 78

Ernestina “Tina” Vargas de Cuevas, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away at the age of 78 on Friday, March 28, 2025, in the presence of her family. Born in El Tulillo, Jalisco, Mexico, she lived most of her life in the Joliet/Crest Hill area. Ernestina, known for her generosity, courage, and deep faith, touched the lives of many. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.

A visitation for Ernestina will take place on Monday, April 7, 2025, from 3-9 p.m. at Anderson Memorial Homes in Plainfield. The funeral will be held on Tuesday, April 8, 2025, at 10 a.m. at the funeral home, followed by interment at St. Mary Nativity Cemetery.
