Mokena, IL - Albert William (Bill) Phelan, born on March 29, 1940, peacefully passed away on March 6, 2025. He was a beloved husband of 63 years to Helen P. (Pat) Phelan (nee O’Malley) and a devoted father to Meg (Tim) McCabe, Tom (Stephanie) Phelan, and Colleen (Tom) Kroning.

Bill was a proud Papa to George, Will, and Nell McCabe, Timothy, Bridgett, and Daniel Phelan, and Kelsey and Sam Kroning. He was preceded in death by his grandson Brian Phelan and granddaughter Emily McCabe. Bill was the son of the late Albert F. (Pat) and Margaret M. Phelan and a cherished big brother to Maureen, Pat, Michael, Kathy, Denis, Richard, and Mark.

He is survived by his brothers and sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, and friends. Bill had a successful career as a union carpenter and construction supply salesman. He enjoyed good food, gardening, Friday night lights football, Notre Dame, golf, simple pleasures, time with family, breakfast with friends, and card games. His love for these passions was known to all who knew him.

A visitation will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 12th, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Mokena, IL, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be private at a later date.
