The City of Joliet is set to change the operation of traffic signals at two key intersections. Starting Monday, March 10, 2025, the signals at Joliet Street and Van Buren Street, as well as Joliet Street and Clinton Street, will switch from a flashing red light mode to regular traffic signal operation.

These intersections have long operated under a flashing red condition. This was primarily due to the needs of the former Harrah’s Casino valet parking area, which saw frequent pedestrian crossings on Joliet Street.

Both motorists and pedestrians are urged to exercise caution when navigating these intersections following the change.
