REPORTS & COMMUNICATIONS FROM VILLAGE OFFICIALS
A. VILLAGE PRESIDENT
VP Schumacher stated the Dolly Parton Imagination Library is kicking off with Will County. If anyone would like to attend that it will be Thursday, January 30th at 5:30 p.m. at the Rialto. It's a great program, as children ages 1 through 5, can get a free book monthly from birth until the time they are five years old. We do have a call coming up with a5 for our logo and rebranding effort. We met with them last week and narrowed down the 11 potentials. We will bring it to the Board before we have our finalized one but they are working on a few changes for us.
Durkin stated that February 12th is the Town Center Plan Workshop is from 6 - 7:30 p.m. right here in this room. The cartographer will be at out next Art & Culture Commission meeting. He is going to put together a quote that will come before the Board. He thinks that is the right choice for what we are looking to do as he has developed a number of these same types of maps for many communities and organizations in the I&M Canal Corridor.

Discussion - Statistical Monthly Report - December 2024
Bogart stated that the monthly report is attached if there were any questions. He would like to go through a few incidents and highlight some officers' exemplary behavior recently. On December 27th, Ofc. Shaughnessy, Ofc. Sobol and Sgt. McClellan responded to a home in Channahon where a young man was experiencing some issues from an intoxicating compound. He had injured himself on his arm and was bleeding quite extensively. Sgt. McClellan applied a pressure dressing to the wound while Ofc. Shaughnessy and Ofc. Sobol applied a tourniquet. Upon follow up with the family and speaking with the doctor, had they not applied that tourniquet a much worse outcome than what it was that night would have occurred. Those efforts are being considered for a life-saving award. On January 15th, Sgt. Potts, Ofc. Philyaw, Ofc. Kociolek, and Ofc. Ingram conducted a missing persons investigation. They did a whole bunch of work and even though the person was not in Channahon. They were able to locate the victim in Bolingbrook near his place of work. They alerted security to his location, who located that missing person, who was experiencing a diabetic emergency and in his freezing car for two hours. Had they not put in that extra effort, it could have been a much worse outcome. This is also being considered for a life-saving award. Just last night, Ofc. Kirkolis, upon hearing a call from Wilmington moved to the area of I-55 and Bluff Road to locate a possible DUI vehicle. He did locate that vehicle and he can tell from the video provided that it was a very dangerous situation with that individual behind the wheel. He was able to stop that driver and arrest him. He was heavily intoxicated. From the video, he was not only a threat to himself but a danger to the roadways too. Outstanding work by Ofc. Kirkolis.
