William J. Clegg | O'Neil Funeral Home And Heritage Crematory - Lockport

Lockport - William J. "Bill" Clegg, 71, of Lockport, passed away peacefully at Lightways Hospice in Joliet, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Joliet and raised in Mokena, Bill made Lockport his home in 1996 and remained there until his passing. A dedicated member of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters Local #734, Bill had a long career working for Wilhelmi Beverages and Wonder Bread. A sports enthusiast, he enjoyed playing, watching, and officiating games, leaving a lasting impact as a youth sports umpire. Bill found joy in golfing, fishing, and cherished his time spent with family and friends. His love for everyday moments, from morning coffee with his wife, Debbie, to holiday celebrations, exemplified his appreciation for life's simple pleasures.

He is reunited in eternal peace with his parents, Michael and June Clegg; his granddaughter, Courtney Flynn; brothers Michael, Marty, and Daniel Clegg; and sister Phylliss Clegg.

Bill is survived by his devoted wife, Debra Clegg, his children Annette Flynn, Kelly Laphen, Stacey Rojek, Kellie Butterbach, Andrea Davenport, and Bill Clegg Jr.; sister Arlene Johnson; beloved grandchildren Bethany, Madison, Louis Jr., Stella, Sage, and others; sister-in-law Shirley White, and many other cherished family members and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Lightways Hospice are appreciated. Visitation will be at O'Neil Funeral Home on Thursday, February 13, 2025, from 3:00 p.m. until the time of Funeral Service at 6:00 p.m. The service will be live streamed at https://www.asimplestreaming.com/wjclegg. Cremation rites will be respectfully addressed after the services.
