City of Wilmington City Council met Nov. 6.

Here are the minutes provided by the council:

MAYOR BEN DIETZ CALLED TO ORDER THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE WILMINGTON CITY COUNCIL AT 7:07 P.M.

ROLL CALL

After the pledge of allegiance, the following answered to Roll Call: Alderpersons Kevin Kirwin, Ryan Jeffries, Dennis Vice, Ryan Knight, Leslie Allred, Jonathan Mietzner, Todd Holmes, and Thomas Smith. The number present constitutes a quorum.

Also present: Attorney Bryan Wellner, City Administrator Jeannine Smith, Finance Director Nancy Gross, Public Works Director James Gretencord, Police Chief Adam Zink and Deputy City Clerk Joie Ziller.

CITIZENS COMMENT

No comments were made.

MAYOR’S REPORT

Mayor Dietz reports that all local and state elected officials retained their seats.

CONSENT AGENDA

1. Approve the Regular Meeting Minutes from October 15, 2024

2. Approve the Accounts Payable Report

3. Approve Ordinance No. 24-10-15-01, An Ordinance Rezoning Certain Property to the I-5 Large Scale Planned Industrial Zoning District (Elion Logistics Park 55) PIN 03-17-21-300-023-0000

Alderperson Kirwin made a motion and Alderperson Vice seconded to approve the Consent Agenda for the November 6, 2024, City Council meeting as presented

Upon roll call, the vote was:

AYES: 8 Kirwin, Vice, Jeffries, Smith, Allred, Holmes, Knight, Mietzner

NAYS: 0

The motion carried.

ORDER OF BUSINESS

Alderperson Jeffires made a motion and Alderperson Knight seconded to approve the Route 66 Band Booking Contract in the of $500.00 to Perform on November 30, 2024 from 1 PM to 3 PM

Upon roll call, the vote was:

AYES: 8 Jeffries, Knight, Kirwin, Vice, Smith, Allred, Holmes, Mietzner

NAYS: 0

The motion carried.

Alderperson Smith made a motion and Alderperson Knight seconded to approve the proposal submitted by Comfort & Joy Holiday Lighting, Inc. for the installation, maintenance, and removal of holiday lighting and décor at Clarie’s Corner Park in the amount of $4,495.00

Upon roll call, the vote was:

AYES: 8 Smith, Knight, Kirwin, Vice, Jeffries, Allred, Holmes, Mietzner

NAYS: 0

The motion carried.

Alderperson Mietzner made a motion and Alderperson Kirwin seconded to approve and authorize the City Administrator to Execute the 2024 Powering the Holidays Grant Acceptance Form

Upon roll call, the vote was:

AYES: 8 Mietzner, Kirwin, Vice, Jeffries, Smith, Allred, Holmes, Knight

NAYS: 0

NAYS: 0

The motion carried.

Alderperson Allred made a motion and Alderperson Mietzner seconded to close Executive Session at 7:44 PM

The motion to adjourn the meeting was made by Alderperson Vice and seconded by Alderperson Knight. Upon the voice vote, the motion carried. The City of Wilmington City Council's regular meeting on November 6, 2024, adjourned at 7:45 p.m.
