Illinois State Senate District 43 candidate Jen Monson acknowledged the results of the November 5 general election in a Facebook post dated November 19. She expressed gratitude, stating, "I am deeply grateful for all those who supported my campaign, cheered me on, volunteered their time, and donated funds!"

"The final count is in," said Monson, according to Facebook. "I am deeply grateful for all those who supported my campaign, cheered me on, volunteered their time, and donated funds! I wouldn't have gotten this far without you!! Unfortunately, it appears that we fell short in getting the word out about my opponent's anti-American pro-big government/socialist tax and spend ways."

According to Monson's Facebook post, she shared images from the Will County Elections office website. The images indicated that out of the 79,126 votes cast in this race, Monson received 33,409 votes, accounting for 42.22% of the total. Her opponent, incumbent Democrat Rachel Ventura, secured 45,717 votes or 57.78%.

The election results page for the 43rd Senate District reported that there are 441,483 registered voters in Will County. Approximately 331,367 ballots were cast across all races in the county, resulting in a voter turnout of 75.06%, as per the Will County Elections Department.

In a Facebook post on November 6, Monson urged her followers to remember that responsibilities remain unchanged despite election outcomes. "Regardless of last night’s results," she wrote, "we all have to get up, go to work, pay the bills, and be nice to each other. Remember to use common sense and common decency always, not just when you feel like it. We are all Americans; please remember that."

Monson is described on her campaign website as a mother of three and a paraprofessional working directly with children with disabilities. She is also an active member of the local school board and has two decades of experience as a business owner.
