Longtime Frankfort Teacher Jeannine R. Nance Dies at 81

Jeannine Rae Nance, 81, a longtime resident of Frankfort, Illinois, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 22, 2024. Born on May 1, 1943 in Peoria, Illinois, Nance dedicated 30 years to teaching at Summit Hill District 161 in Frankfort, IL, known as "Ms. Jeannine."

Jeannine is survived by her children, Jeffrey (Jen) Nance, Jaimi (Troy) Nance-Jones, and Jeremy (Julie) Nance; grandchildren Tyler, Madisyn, Ryan Welsh, Tasha Nance, Liam, Keegan, Tiernan Adkins, Alyssa, Alexis, Alex, and Aliya Jones; and her brother Jerry (late Janet) Key. She was preceded in death by her children's father, James Nance, brother Jim (late Carolyn) Key, sister-in-law Janet Key, daughter-in-law Pamela Nance, and family dog Tobey "The Ice Cube Bandit" Nance.

A memorial visitation for Jeannine will be held on Saturday, November 9, 2024, from 9:30 a.m. until the service at 11:30 a.m. Contributions may be made by ordering memorial trees or sending flowers to the family in her memory.
