Illinois State Senate District 43 candidate Jen Monson shared information on unofficial election results in a November 7 Facebook post. She said, "Results will be official after canvassing on Tuesday, November 26."
"Unofficial Results," said Monson, according to Facebook. "Provisional Ballots cast on Election Day and all remaining Vote By Mail Ballots that were postmarked by Election Day will be counted at the Provisional Count on Tuesday, November 19. Results will be official after canvassing on Tuesday, November 26."
According to Monson's Facebook post, she provided a link to Will County’s election results. These results indicate that Monson received 32,883 votes, accounting for 42.53% of the total votes cast. Incumbent Democrat Rachel Ventura garnered 44,430 votes, representing 57.47% of the total 77,313 votes cast for this race. The election results page for the 43rd Senate District notes that there are 441,483 registered voters in Will County. Approximately 322,810 ballots were cast across all races in the county, resulting in a voter turnout of 73.12%.

In a separate Facebook post dated November 6, Monson urged her followers to remember their responsibilities despite the election outcome. "Regardless of last night’s results," she wrote, "we all have to get up, go to work, pay the bills, and be nice to each other." She emphasized the importance of using common sense and decency at all times and reminded her audience that "We are all Americans."
Monson is described on her campaign website as a mother of three and a paraprofessional working directly with children with disabilities. She is also an active member of the local school board and has two decades of experience as a business owner.
