Oliver T. Apgar Jr. | O'Neil Funeral Home And Heritage Crematory - Lockport

Lockport – Oliver T. Apgar Jr., 68, affectionately known as "Papa," peacefully passed away on Wednesday, October 23, 2024. A lifelong Lockport resident, he served in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam era and later worked in IT at Nicor, Unisys, and Coldwell Banker Real Estate Group. Fond of western movies, John Wayne, and reading, Oliver found utmost joy in supporting his daughters at their sporting events.

Oliver was preceded in death by his parents Oliver Sr. and Jean Apgar, brothers Bruce and Brian Apgar, and sister Pamela Apgar. He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Margie J. Apgar, daughters Mary Beth (Jeff) Robertson, Angela (Andrew) Cullen, Kaitlyn Apgar, and Kelsey (Sean) Reese, grandchildren, siblings, and numerous other relatives and friends.

In lieu of flowers, donations to Lightways Hospice or the Alzheimer’s Association in Oliver's honor are welcomed.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, October 26, 2024, at O'Neil Funeral Home Chapel in Lockport, IL, from 1:00 p.m. until the 5:00 p.m. service. Cremation rites will follow.
