REGULAR MEETING of the City Council of the City of Lockport, Illinois was held on Wednesday, October 2, 2024 in the Board Room, 3rd Floor, of the Central Square Building, 222 E. Ninth Street, Lockport, Illinois. Mayor Steve Streit called the Meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.

LIAISON REPORT
1. Angela Adolph – Administrator, Lockport Township High School
a. Thank you to Lockport Police Department and Will County for support and partnership
b. Thank you for the support for the Internship opportunities at LTHS; 30 students that are interns will be attending the next City Council meeting
c. Three meetings scheduled October 3, 10, 24 for residents to provide input/feedback
d. October 8, Young Hearts for Life, cardiac screening for kids
e. October 24, College and Career Night
f. October 29, Give Something Back at Central Campus
g. Host dinner and fall play, free for residents age 60 and over
h. Madrigal dinner December 6-8
i. December 6, 10th annual veterans recognition night in the East gym
j. December, the Nutcracker, tickets available for $25
k. 299 students that are scholars, 160 from Lockport

a. Fiscal Budget – finalize the first draft in the next few weeks

a. Happy Birthday to Ben Benson!
b. Reminder – October is breast cancer awareness month.
c. Reminder – Recognition and Beautification Awards – submit your nominations
d. Shred Day last weekend – was a success! Thank you for participation
4. Pugh
a. Today from 3-5 pm Lockport Officers participated in “Cones with a Cop” at the Lockport Dairy Queen. This was very well attended and we thank members of the Lockport Community who were able to attend
b. On Wednesday, October 9, 4-7 pm, Lockport Officers will be participating in “Tip a Cop” at Coom’s Corner. This is a Special Olympics fundraiser where Officers help waiters and waitresses bring out food and non-alcoholic drinks to customers. Tips will go to Special Olympics as a donation.
c. On Saturday, October 12, Lockport Officers will be participating in the Rotary Club of Lockport’s 6th annual Coffin Races. The event starts at 1 pm in the Hamilton Street Lot for those interested in attending.
5. Gillogly
a. Fall Branch pickup starts next week – one sweep thru the City
b. Leaf pickup will start October 14 and will run until all leaves are picked up
c. Shout out to Public Works team members
d. Citizen reached out regarding bee infestation in parkway trees; Public Works came out and resolved the issue

8. CD-2. Site Improvement Grant Request for 16716 W. 159th Street, Rocco's Pub, in the Amount of $10,000, to Repave the Existing Gravel Parking Lot, Replace the Fence and Construct a New Trash Enclosure Suggested Action: Approve Resolution No. 24-100 the Site Improvement Grant for the property located at 16716 W. 159th Street in the amount of $10,000.
