New Lenox Mourns the Loss of Shirley Mae Cross, 91

New Lenox, IL – Shirley Mae Cross, 91, passed away on October 25, 2024, in Lemont, IL. She is survived by her children Scott, Pamela, and Dawn, grandchildren Stephanie and Samantha, great-grandchildren Reed and Luna. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother, and the father of her children.

Shirley was a dedicated member of the New Lenox community, a graduate of Joliet Township High School, and retired from the Federal Government after 30 years of service. She was an active member of the New Lenox United Methodist Church, New Lenox Area Historical Society, and Will County Farm Bureau. In lieu of flowers, donations to the New Lenox United Methodist Church or New Lenox Area Historical Society are appreciated.

A Memorial Visitation and Service will be held on November 1, 2024, at Hickey Memorial Chapel in New Lenox, with burial of cremains at Maplewood Cemetery.
