Douglas "Doug" E. Tweeten | Fosythe Gould Funeral Home

Manhattan, IL – Douglas Edward Tweeten, 86, passed away on October 21, 2024, surrounded by his family at his home. He is survived by his wife Diane, children Christina, Lisa, and Eric, grandchildren Ethan, Julian, Sofie, Jenna, and Alec, sister Christie, and several nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents Genard and Marguerite, as well as sister Marjolaine.

Born in Devils Lake, North Dakota, Doug was a dedicated educator and active member of various organizations. He taught core sciences and math in Indiana before becoming Vice President of Academic Affairs at South Suburban College. Doug was known for his love of gardening, passion for nature, and dedication to education. A celebration of his life will be held on November 10, 2024, at Forsythe Gould Funeral Home in Manhattan. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Doug Tweeten Scholarship Fund.
