The Frankfort Village Board Trustees approved funding nearly a year ago for a project to resurface St. Francis Road. What is the current status of this project?

According to a November 11, 2023 article in the Vedette, the project involves resurfacing St. Francis Road from U.S. 45 (LaGrange Road) to 88th Avenue. A Surface Transportation Program (STP) grant was awarded to cover 80% of the construction costs. The village is responsible for paying $206,130, for which Motor Fuel Tax (MFT) funds shall be appropriated.

According to a Village of Frankfort Facebook post, the project commenced on May 13. It includes curb and gutter removal and replacement, pavement patching, adjusting drainage structures, asphalt pavement removal, oil application, and new asphalt. Construction crews were scheduled to work from 7 a.m. to dusk.

The Facebook post also indicated that the project was expected to be completed in approximately two and a half months from the start date, though weather could cause delays. If delays were minimal, the project should wind down this month.
