The City of Joliet is Accepting Nominations for the 2024 Neighborhood Hero Awards

Nominate Someone Today with an Exceptional Garden!

Help us recognize those who take great pride in their property, thus showing great pride in their neighborhood and in our city. The 2024 Neighborhood Hero Awards program acknowledges residents who demonstrate civic pride by maintaining well-kept and outstanding gardens. Winners receive a celebratory sign for their yard and recognition from the Joliet City Council.

The criteria for Neighborhood Heroes include:

- Clean and well-maintained grass;

- Use of flowers, shrubs, trees, planting beds, gardening, and other decorative features;

- The exterior of the residence must be in good condition;

- Landscaping must be the resident's own work;

- Trash bins not visible and no artificial flowers.

Nominations must be submitted by Monday, June 10, 2024.

Nominations should include the property address, as well as a brief description of the reason for the nomination, particularly if there have been obvious improvements to the facade or residence. Nominations can be sent via email or postal mail.
