JOLIET— Will County State’s Attorney James Glasgow announced today that Quinton Jenkins, 41, of Joliet, has been sentenced to 23 years in prison for Predatory Criminal Sexual Assault of a Child. Jenkins, a convicted sex offender, pled guilty to the charges and was sentenced by Circuit Judge David Carlson.

During the sentencing, Glasgow expressed, "What should have been a fun afternoon at a birthday party turned into a life-altering nightmare for this young boy because of the horrific sexual assault by this serial child predator with a history of taking advantage of young children." He emphasized the importance of recognizing that both boys and girls can be victims of sexual abuse, praising the courage of the young boy for speaking up about the abuse.

Jenkins, who will serve 85% of his sentence, was also noted to have a previous conviction for sexual abuse involving minors in Iowa. He will undergo lifetime registration as a child sex offender and mandatory supervised release for the rest of his life.

Glasgow expressed gratitude towards the individuals involved in the case, including Assistant State’s Attorneys, Victim Witness Advocate, police officers, and healthcare professionals. The Will County Children’s Advocacy Center, established by Glasgow in 1995, was acknowledged for its critical role in providing services to children who are victims of abuse.

The Center conducts forensic interviews with children who have experienced abuse, ensuring a victim-sensitive approach to gathering information. Each year, the Will County CAC serves over 700 children who have endured various forms of abuse.

The sentencing of Jenkins serves as a reminder of the importance of addressing and preventing sexual abuse, while also highlighting the resilience of victims who come forward to seek justice.
