State Representative Tim Ozinga recently addressed the concerning news that MoneyGeek named Illinois the least tax-friendly state in the nation. According to MoneyGeek, Illinois earned an 'F' grade for tax unfriendliness, largely due to the high average property tax bill of $9,000 per residence.

In response to this designation, Representative Ozinga emphasized the importance of addressing the state's tax issues for economic growth, stating, "If we want our state economy to grow, we must start by fixing our tax problem."

Additionally, the Illinois Department of Employment Security reported a rise in the state's unemployment rate from 4.7% in January to 4.8% in February. While there was an increase of 23,100 nonfarm jobs in February, it was overshadowed by the entry of new jobless individuals into the labor market.
