Cass Street Bridge will be fully closed to vehicular and pedestrian traffic during 3/26/24. A detour will be posted. No impact to marine traffic.
According to the official announcement, the detour route will be as follows: "Westbound US 30 (Cass St.) - Follow Scott St. (IL 53) north to Ruby St. (IL 53), then west to Broadway St. (IL 53), then north to Theodore St. (IL 7), then west to meet up with US 30 (Plainfield Rd.)"
This closure is scheduled for one day only, with the bridge reopening to traffic on the following day. The closure is necessary for maintenance and repair work on the bridge structure.
Drivers and pedestrians are advised to plan ahead and make use of the posted detour route to avoid any inconvenience during the closure period.
