City of Joliet Land Use and Legislative Committee Meeting Scheduled for March 14, 2024

The City of Joliet Land Use and Legislative Committee will convene on Thursday, March 14, 2024, at 4:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers at Joliet City Hall to address several important agenda items. Citizens who are unable to attend the meeting are encouraged to email comments in advance to publiccomment@joliet.gov.

Among the topics to be discussed are the following:

- "SOLAR ENERGY SYSTEMS ORDINANCE (JT)"

- "DEFINITION IN THE ZONING ORDINANCE FOR FENCES (JT)"

- "AN ORDINANCE AMENDING NUMBER OF MEMBERS AND CLARIFYING ATTENDANCE REQUIREMENT FOR THE ARTS COMMISSION (CR)"

- "A RESOLUTION IMPOSING A ONE YEAR MORATORIUM ON INDUSTRIAL ZONING ON PROPERTY WITHIN THE CITY OF JOLIET"

Councilwoman Jan Hallums Quillman, Chairperson of the Committee, along with Councilman Cesar Guerrero and Councilwoman Sherri Reardon, will preside over the meeting.

During the meeting, there will be designated times for citizens to speak on both agenda items and non-agenda items. Individuals speaking on agenda items will have a maximum of 4 minutes to address the Committee. However, it is important to note that the Committee does not generally respond to public comments during this period.

Beth Beatty, the City Manager, emphasized the importance of maintaining a harmonious environment during the meeting. She stated that "speakers who engage in conduct injurious to the harmony of the Land Use & Legislative Committee shall be called to order by the Presiding Officer and may forfeit the opportunity to speak."
