State Representative Tim Ozinga (R-Mokena) is organizing a free shred event for constituents of the 37th District. The event, in partnership with Shark Shredding, will take place on Saturday, October 28th, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Mokena Junior High parking lot.

The purpose of this event is to provide a safe and convenient opportunity for individuals to dispose of sensitive documents such as old bank statements, tax documents, and receipts. By shredding these items, people can protect their personal information from falling into the wrong hands.

Representative Ozinga expressed his enthusiasm for the event, stating, "This shred event is a great way to protect your personal information by safely disposing of sensitive documents like old bank statements, tax documents, and receipts. I’m happy to offer this service to constituents and look forward to a great turnout."

To ensure efficiency and safety, the event has a few guidelines in place. Each vehicle is limited to three boxes of documents for shredding, and only residential shredding will be accepted. Participants are required to remain in their vehicles while staff members assist with unloading the documents. It is important to note that while paper folders, staples, and paper clips can be fed into the shredder, large binder clips, plastic file folders, and old floppy discs cannot be accepted.

In addition, the event is solely focused on document shredding, and no electronics will be accepted for recycling or disposal.
