City of Joliet Finance Committee met Aug. 15.

Here are the minutes provided by the committee:

ROLL CALL:

Present Councilman Pat Mudron, Councilman Larry E. Hug and Councilwoman Jan Hallums Quillman

ALSO PRESENT:

Kevin Sing - Director of Finance and Armando De Avila - Risk Management

APPROVAL OF MINUTES:

A motion was made by Councilwoman Jan Hallums Quillman, seconded by Councilman Larry E. Hug, to approve the Minutes for the July 18, 2023 monthly Finance Committee Meeting.

The motion carried by the following vote:

Aye: Councilman Mudron, Councilman Hug and Councilwoman Hallums Quillman

CITIZENS TO BE HEARD ON AGENDA ITEMS:

None.

REPORTS:

Kevin Sing - Director of Finance, briefly discussed TMP-6234, on the Monthly Financial Report, Invoice Exceptions and Railto Theatre Quarterly Report. The financial report for the Railto Theatre was not available during the meeting and will be submitted to the Finance Committee at a later time. A brief discussion was held.

TMP-6235 - The Travel Expense Report was not discussed at the time of the meeting due to the lack of time available for the presentation of the 2024 Budget Discussion.

Armando De Avila - Risk Management, gave a brief overview of TMP-6236 for the August 2023 Personnel summary Report, regarding employment positions currently open with the 440 Local Union and within the City of Joliet. No further discussion was held.

PRESENTATIONS:

Mr. Sing presented TMP-6262 on the 2024 Fiscal Year Budget Discussion, advising that the department requested budgets are to be submitted and ready for review by the full council, and to be available for review by the second council meeting in September 2023. A discussion was held.

A motion was made by Councilman Larry E. Hug, seconded by Councilwoman Jan Hallums Quillman, to adjourn.
