There were eight offenders convicted of crimes involving alcohol living in Will County released on parole during the fourth quarter of 2022, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by the Will County Gazette.

The data shows six men and two women were among the parolees. The median age of the parolees sentenced for crimes involving alcohol was 48. The youngest parolee was a 28-year-old man sentenced in 2022, and the oldest was a 64-year-old man sentenced in 2022.

The offender who had been incarcerated the longest was Ronald T. Meimers. He was convicted in 2021 when he was 57 years old. He is now 59.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.
