Will County Gazette

There were 15 offenders living in DeKalb County released on parole during the second quarter of 2022, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by Will County Gazette.

The data shows all of the released offenders in DeKalb County were men. The median age of the parolees was 29. The youngest parolee was a 25-year-old man sentenced for a crime involving one or more weapons in 2020, and the oldest was a 63-year-old man sentenced for a crime involving drugs in 2020.

The offender incarcerated the longest was Baird Joseph. He was convicted of a property crime in 2019 when he was 22 years old. He is now 26.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.
