Will County Gazette

There were 77 offenders living in Will County released on parole during the first quarter of 2022, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by Will County Gazette.

The data shows 73 men and four women were released in Will County. The median age of the parolees was 34. The youngest parolee was a 20-year-old man sentenced for a crime involving one or more weapons in 2022, and the oldest was a 70-year-old woman sentenced for a financial crime or fraud in 2020.

The offender incarcerated the longest was John R. Raue. He was convicted of homicide in 1991 when he was 27 years old. He is now 59.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.
