City of Joliet Board of Fire and Police Commissioners met Nov. 14.

Here are the minutes provided by the board:

ROLL CALL    

Present  

Brad Price, Quinn Adamowski, Janean Jackson and John Lukancic

SECRETARY'S REPORT  

To be read into the record: 

Fire Department 

#29 Jeremy Malec withdrew 9-23-22

Police Department 

#1 Mikaela Gardner withdrew 10-15-22 

#4 Caleb Saxsma withdrew 11-2-22 

#18 Kenneth Richmond overage 10-29-22 

#19 William Dickman withdrew 10-5-22 

CITIZENS TO BE HEARD ON AGENDA ITEMS - None

It is not a question and answer period and staff, and the Commission members do not generally respond to public comments. The City Clerk has a copy of the public speaking procedures; please note, speakers who engage in conduct injurious to the harmony of the meeting shall be called to order by the Presiding Officer and may forfeit the opportunity to speak. 

NEW OR OLD BUSINESS, NOT FOR FINAL ACTION OR  RECOMMENDATION - None  

EXECUTIVE SESSION  

Jackson voted to enter closed session for the purpose of reviewing one Firefighter applicant. Seconded by Lukancic and voted unanimously approved.

HIRING OF ONE FIRE FIREFIGHTER  

Lukancic moved to conditionally appoint #27 Robert Doyle, based on passing a physical and vision exam. Seconded by Jackson, unanimously voted to conditionally appoint.

Jackson moved to adjourn. Seconded by Lukancic. Unanimously voted to adjourn.
