City of Joliet Public Safety Committee met Oct. 20.

Here are the minutes provided by the committee:

ROLL CALL

Present Councilwoman Jan Quillman and Councilman Joe Clement Absent Councilman Larry E. Hug

ALSO PRESENT: Deputy Police Chief Chris Botzum, Fire Chief Jeff Carey, Housing Finance Specialist Kristina McNichol

APPROVAL OF MINUTES

A motion was made by Councilman Clement, seconded by Councilwoman Quillman, to approve the minutes of the October 4, 2022, Public Safety Committee Minutes.

The motion carried by the following vote:

Aye: Councilwoman Quillman and Councilman Clement

Absent: Councilman Hug

CITIZENS TO BE HEARD ON AGENDA ITEMS

No citizens to be heard on agenda items.

PURCHASES

Authorization to Purchase and Replace Livescan Equipment in the amount of $116,280.00

Deputy Police Chief Botzum briefly discussed this Council Memo.

A motion was made by Councilman Clement, seconded by Councilwoman Quillman, to recommend for approval to the full Council Authorization to Purchase and Replace Livescan Equipment in the amount of $116,280.00.

The motion carried by the following vote:

Aye: Councilwoman Quillman and Councilman Clement Absent: Councilman Hug

ORDINANCES AND RESOLUTIONS

Intergovernmental Agreement with Joliet Township High School District 204 for the School Resource Officer Program

Deputy Police Chief Botzum briefly discussed this Council Memo.

A motion was made by Councilman Clement, seconded by Councilwoman Quillman, to recommend for approval to the full Council Intergovernmental Agreement with Joliet Township High School District 204 for the School Resource Officer Program.

The motion carried by the following vote:

Aye: Councilwoman Quillman and Councilman Clement

Absent: Councilman Hug

NEW OR OLD BUSINESS, NOT FOR FINAL ACTION OR RECOMMENDATION

1. Citizen Notifications.

2. Exploring a grant opportunity to be able to do community outreach.

Fire Chief Blaskey briefly discussed this grant opportunity to be able to do community outreach.
