A motion was made by Aaron Mikottis, seconded by Kailee Lowry, to approve the October 27, 2021 Joliet Historic Preservation Committee of the Whole Workshop Meeting Minutes. The motion carried by the following vote: Aye: Bessler, Johnson, Lowry, Stovall and Wright
Absent: Adamowski, Beth Gannon and Heinemann
Abstain: Merwin and Mikottis

Review and Discussion of Memo on Designation Standards / Criteria and Certificate of Appropriateness Best Practices
Ms. Bernhard introduced Mr. Nicholas P. Kalogeresis, AICP, Associate Principal, from The Lakota Group. At the Commission’s request, the Lakota Group was consulted to assist the Commission on key issues and concerns related to the local designation of landmarks and historic districts and the issuance of Certificates of Appropriateness for certain landmark properties. Mr. Kalogeresis held a discussion with the Commissioners about the memorandum, which summarized their response to the key issues and concerns raised by the Commission.
