V. COMMENTS BY EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
Executive Director Schultz advised the Board of the September 11th, 20th Anniversary "We Will Never Forget" Ceremony to be held on Saturday, September 11, 2021 at 9 AM at the Will County Courthouse, 100 W. Jefferson Street, Joliet, Illinois.
Schultz was pleased to announce the removal of the Hammel Woods Dam has been completed. Schultz thanked the Lower DuPage River Watershed Coalition and those municipalities who continued to contribute funds which will lead to other improvements along the river, in forest preserves, park districts, and communities. Schultz expressed the river is open to paddlers; the parking lot, and DuPage River Trail near the dam also have reopened. A new kayak and canoe launch built downstream of the old launch also is open for use.

Secretary Freeman reminded the Board members of the Nature Foundation of Will County's Oaktober Native Tree and Shrub sale which started Saturday, September 4th online.
