H. REPORTS

1. Forest Preserve District Logo Revision

Executive Director Schultz explained the District’s new logo design. The District’s logo has not been updated since 2008. The latest version connects the Forest Preserve to the county, to nature, and to conservation. The new additions can symbolize various concepts such as:

• The integration of various shade of green (diversity) and the use of branches which extend to all area of the county (outreach)

• It hints at the idea of county districts through the alternating colors, shapes, and branches.

• It can be representational of our trail systems, with the branches of the tree again serving to connect various parts of the county as our tails do.

• The various shades of green can illustrate the biodiversity and variety of habitats that exist within our preserve.

• It reinforces our tagline and our website through concepts of connections.

Schultz said the revised logo rollout will begin on the website and social media followed by trailhead signage which is planned for replacement and our vehicle fleet. The whole transition should be completed in 2-3 years.

2. Next Meeting Date - Wednesday, August 4, 2021 at 8:30 AM at the Will County Office Building, 302 N. Chicago Ave, Joliet, IL
