Curran thanks staffers who do 'great work' in Administrative Professionals Day video

State Sen. John Curran (R-Downers Grove) joined his GOP Senate colleagues in thanking staffers in honor of Administrative Professionals Day.

Republicans shared their gratitude in an April 21 video sent out by the Illinois Senate Republican Caucus, where Curran noted the hard work of his senate office managers.

"I'd like to give a big shoutout to Andy Corbin and Gabriela Garza," Curran said. "Two people that manage both of my senate offices, [they] do a fantastic job. Please keep up the great work. Thank you."

The day was originally launched as National Secretaries Week in 1952 but decades later was changed to Administrative Professional's Day. The date is meant to recognizing the hard work and contributions of those employees to the national economy and the business community.

In related news Sen. Curran has not been a shy critic of Gov. J.B. Pritzker's recent financial decisions; in March DuPage Policy Journal reported that Curran believes the governor is incapable of a bipartisan approach to the state budget.

“I was hoping to hear the Governor talk about a bipartisanship approach as we begin the budget conversation,” Curran said. “Unfortunately, what we heard instead was a hyper-partisan speech and name-calling directed at Republicans. He did not strike a productive tone, and considering the incredible challenges this State faces, it was disappointing.”
