Margie Bonuchi's campaign has issued the following press release:

The following is Margie Bonuchi, candidate for Plainfield Mayor's, vision for a flourishing Plainfield. Margie intends to continue the good work that she and her fellow trustees have accomplished if she is elected Mayor.

  • We should continue the development of 143rd Street. We have to think about the transportation of people and families not trucks. That means rerouting the trucks to the east of 143rd to avoid 59.
  • Develop the Route 30 corridor so we can attract more businesses in general and redevelop existing ones. More businesses leads to better growth in the community.
  • Development of P3 area where PACE parking is and Perlow steel in P3 development. We should continue to balance business in the industrial and commercial industries.
  • Continue to improve the overall quality of life for families in the community. I'd like to develop different walking and bike paths. We have gotten a lot of feedback from residents, who wish to have trails from the South Spring Bank subdivision as well as developing the riverfront property.
  • I plan to work with other community leaders to expand on projects not just in Plainfield but in all of Will and Kendall counties.
Margie Bonuchi and her husband have lived in Plainfield for 25 years. Margie is a Village Trustee and Technology Administrator for Plainfield School District 202. She has served the Plainfield Foundation for Excellence as chairperson for eight years, and as a band booster, she’s helped raise over $1 million for Plainfield music education.
