Lincoln-Way East, Illini grad Nick Allegretti playing in 2nd Super Bowl

Nick Allegretti, a graduate of Lincoln-Way East in Frankfort, will be playing in his second Super Bowl game today with the Kansas City Chiefs.

A second-year offensive lineman, Allegretti is an Illini alum who was a seventh-round draft picked of the Chiefs in 2019.

Super Bowl LV will see the defending NFL champions Kansas City Chiefs playing the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at the Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida.

The Chiefs recorded an NFL-best 14–2 record in 2020 under eighth-year head coach Andy Reid while the Buccaneers, with 20-year veteran quarterback Tom Brady, finished the 2020 season with an 11–5 record under second-year head coach Bruce Arians.
