Channahon FPD responds to 31 fires in 2018

Channahon Fire Protection District responded to 115 calls in 2018 - 0.9 percent less than the previous year, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System.

The calls in Channahon included 31 fires - 13 structure fires, seven vehicle fires and 11 other fires.

In all, the department saw $3,247,189 in fire loss - or about $104,748 per fire.

The department also received 84 false calls.

The Channahon Fire Protection District had an annual budget of $3,731,666 in 2017.

The Channahon Fire Protection District Firefighters Pension Fund, which has 17 active employees and two retired or inactive employees, was $575,966 positive as of December 2017, according to the fund's mandated filings with the Illinois Department of Insurance. That amounts to $19,861 for every fire in 2017.
