Analysis: Bolingbrook pays $5.22 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Bolingbrook Firefighters Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 83.5 percent of the $5,293,371 the Bolingbrook Firefighters Pension Fund brought in 2018, or $5.22 for every $1 from pension members, according to a Will County Gazette analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Bolingbrook contributed $4,420,022 to the fund, which saw a $109,600 increase in revenue over 2017. Members contributed $846,013, or 16 percent, in 2018. Another $27,336 came from other unspecified sources.
