Analysis: Mokena pays $3.11 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Mokena Police Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 75.7 percent of the $1,040,682 the Mokena Police Pension Fund brought in 2018, or $3.11 for every $1 from pension members, according to a Will County Gazette analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Mokena contributed $787,552 to the fund, which saw a $49,042 increase in revenue over 2017. Members contributed $253,116, or 24.3 percent, in 2018. Another $14 came from other unspecified sources.
