Analysis: Shorewood pays $2.87 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Shorewood Police Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 74.2 percent of the $909,253 the Shorewood Police Pension Fund brought in 2018, or $2.87 for every $1 from pension members, according to a Will County Gazette analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Shorewood contributed $674,384 to the fund, which saw a $87,973 increase in revenue over 2017. Members contributed $234,869, or 25.8 percent, in 2018.
