Analysis: University Park pays $2.12 for every $1 pensioners contribute to University Park Firefighters Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 67.5 percent of the $677,383 the University Park Firefighters Pension Fund brought in 2018, or $2.12 for every $1 from pension members, according to a Will County Gazette analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, University Park contributed $457,521 to the fund, which saw a $192,467 increase in revenue over 2017. Members contributed $215,735, or 31.8 percent, in 2018. Another $4,127 came from other unspecified sources.
