City of Joliet Economic Development Committee met Jan. 14.

1. Roll Call
PRESENT: Councilman Larry Hug, Chairman, Councilman Don "Duck" Dickinson, Councilman Terry Morris.
ABSENT: None.
ALSO PRESENT: Derek Conley, Economic Development Specialist, Steve Jones, Interim City Manager, Mike Schwarz, Director of Planning.
2. Approval of Minutes—November 12, 2019
Motion to approve the minutes from the November 12, 2019 was made by Councilman Don "Duck" Dickinson.
Motion seconded by Councilman Terry Morris.
Motion carried by the following vote:
AYES: Councilman Larry Hug, Chairman, Councilman Don "Duck" Dickinson, Councilman Terry Morris.
NAYS: None.
3. Citizens to Be Heard on Agenda Items
None.
4. New/Old Business - For Final Action Or Recommendation
a. Resolutions for a Development Agreement and Parking Lot and Parking
Councilman Dickinson and Councilman Morris both felt there was a lot to the incentives and it would require a close watch on the project.
Councilman Morris stated he would like more time to absorb everything.
Chairman Hug said normally there is already an agreement reached before the request comes before the Committee. He also feels an auditing system might be needed on a quarterly basis for the project.
Mr. Mazzone said they will try to come up with a more presentable package and alleviate some of the concerns from the trades.
Motion to table the Resolutions for a Development Agreement and Parking Lot and Parking Structure License Agreement with City Center Hospitality Inc. until both parties come to an agreement was made by Councilman Don "Duck" Dickinson.
Motion seconded by Councilman Terry Morris.
Motion carried by the following vote:
AYES: Councilman Larry Hug, Chairman, Councilman Don "Duck" Dickinson, Councilman Terry Morris.
NAYS: None.
5. New or Old Business, Not For Final Action or Recommendation
a. 2020 Building Permit Report
Mr. Conley reviewed the 2020 building permit report.
b. Discussion on sending City and Elected Officials to ICSC ReCon May 17, 2020
Chairman Hug gave some background information regarding the ICSC ReCon. He is suggesting the entire Committee go to the next event if they are interested.
Councilman Dickinson and Councilman Morris both responded they would be willing to go.
Mr. Conley explained the lodging, travel and registration fees.
