Village of Romeoville Village Board met Dec. 18.

1. CALL TO ORDER

Roll Call

Present 7 - Trustee Jose Chavez, Trustee Linda Palmiter, Trustee Ken Griffin, Trustee Dave Richards, Trustee Brian A. Clancy Sr., Mayor John Noak, and Trustee Lourdes Aguirre

3. PETITIONS FROM THE PUBLIC

Jared TaylorHe is a resident for 5 years. He is very much in favor of allowing the sale of recreational cannibas in Romeoville. He is a currently registered medical cannibas user. He asks that the Village not levy the maximum tax amount as this may encourage people to go to the black market.

A motion was made by Trustee Griffin, seconded by Trustee Chavez, to do a consent agenda. The motion carried by the following vote:

6 - Aye: Trustee Chavez, Trustee Palmiter, Trustee Griffin, Trustee Richards, Trustee Clancy, and Trustee Aguirre

Non-voting: 1 - Mayor Noak

5. MAYOR'S REPORT

Congratulations to Lou’s Styling on their 30th anniversary.

Village offices will be closed on December 24th, 25th, 31st and January 1st.

Due to the first Wednesday of January being January 1st, the next

Board meeting will be held on January 15th.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all.

The State of the Village will be held January 30th.

8. VILLAGE MANAGER'S REPORT

WInter Wonderland was a great event. Thanks to Recreation and Fire.

There was a great turnout.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to the Mayor, Board, Staff and residents.

9. NEW BUSINESS

ORD19-1597 An Ordinance Approving a Special Use Permit for a Planned Unit Development - Final Development Plan for Mongo’s Signage at 1101 N. Independence Blvd.

Mr Gulden stated that we have reached a compromise on this.

A motion was made by Trustee Griffin, seconded by Trustee Aguirre, that this Ordinance be Tabled until February 19, 2020. The motion carried by the following vote:

6 - Aye: Trustee Chavez, Trustee Palmiter, Trustee Griffin, Trustee Richards, Trustee Clancy, and Trustee Aguirre

Non-voting: 1 - Mayor Noak

10. BOARD COMMENTS

Trustee ChavezTickets are on sale for Ribfest. Residents have first dibs. There are three packages to choose from. This is a great opportunity for our residents.

The apartments look very good. He is looking forward to seeing the floor plans.

Mr Gulden stated that Rezza is here and would like to say a couple words.

He thanked the Village for donating the car to Special Olympics. There is a second vehicle that was donated as well to use as parts for this car which helps to save money as we won't have to spend money to buy parts. Mayor Noak added that this is very exciting. This is for a very worthwhile cause.

Mayor Noak thanked all of our staff for everything they do. He also thanked the Board and the community. This has been a fantastic year. He is very proud to be a member of this Board.

A motion was made by Trustee Griffin, seconded by Trustee Aguirre, that this Meeting be Adjourned at 6:37 p.m. The motion carried by the following vote:
