Q2 2019 Parolees Recap: Who was paroled in Will County?

There were 125 offenders released on parole during the second quarter of 2019 that live in Will County, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by Will County Gazette.

The data shows that 117 men and eight women were released in Will County. Of the parolees, one is a veteran, and the median age is 36. The youngest parolee was a 20-year-old man sentenced for a property crime in 2018, and the oldest was a 64-year-old man sentenced for a crime involving drugs in 2018.

The offender who had been incarcerated the longest was Leroy McAfee. He was convicted of a crime against a person in 1998 when he was 19 years old. He is now 40.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.

The table below gives a breakdown of how many offenders were paroled in the second quarter of 2019 in each Will County municipality with at least one parolee in the quarter.
