Illinois State House District 86 issued the following announcement on Jan. 29.
State Rep. Larry Walsh, Jr., D-Elwood, issued the following statement after Gov. Pritzker’s State of the State address to a joint session of the General Assembly:
“In his address today, the governor laid the groundwork for what I am confident will be another productive and successful session here in Springfield. We achieved a number of significant legislative accomplishments last spring, and that was possible due to measured and steady leadership from members of both parties.
“I am proud to have supported reforms to rebuild outdated infrastructure, which is creating thousands of high-wage jobs across the state. I also supported our communities by investing in job training programs to help employers grow their businesses and contribute to the local economy while preparing the next generation of skilled workers.
“I recognize that more remains to be done as we continue working to improve Illinois’ future, and I’m looking forward to working with the governor and my colleagues in Springfield as we continue moving the state back in the right direction.”
